Ha yes!!
Shooting through the scrim looked amazing..
I forgot how good it is. I got the scrims for shooting whiskey bottles
Howya Mark.. Photography: strobe or continuous light?? My amazon basket awaits your verdict..😊
If I'm totally honest, if it's solely for photography then strobes. But nowadays we have to cater for parts of video too so continuous
Sigma so power in sharpness ❤
Yeah its super sharp
where is it??? Eircode?
Creative Spark
Got it! Thanks Mark@@MarkDuffyPhotography
Great stuff Duffer 👌 And it doesn't have to be packed away when you're finished either
Exactly, that's one of the best parts about it
Congratulations sir❤
Nice one thanks
Thank you. I’ve owned the 24-105 for both my Canon and now Sony systems. It’s the first lens I buy on a new system to test out to make sure I want to invest more in it. Would like a Mark II version though. Take care.
The only one that competes this is the new 35-150mm lenses, I've had a chance to test the Tamron and Samyang recently
@@MarkDuffyPhotography Just concerned the lenses like the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 are bigger and heavier than II want. It ways more than my Sony 79-200/2.8;GM II.
Could you please tell me what Wimaxit monitor you have connected to your camera?
Not sure on the name it's the 13"
Where do u get these things?
H&Y filter site
Hey there love the comparison! I've got the MKE-200 and I've been trying to work on the EQ to make it sound better. The Sennheiser performs better outside, but I noticed during your Rode EQ there was a bassier effect making it sound nicer IMO. I'm not very informed when it comes to sound work, so do you think this is achievable on the MKE-200? Also, do you have any tips on removing the noise in the MKE-200 without ruining sound quality? Thanks :)
Great video as always. Epic focusing at 4:50 ? Was that done with AF or manual ?
No all auto focus
man’s got wooden pickups 😎
Does he? I never noticed and I gigged with him as drummer in a covers band lol
Great vid thanks! Subbed.
Nice one thanks I've a new video coming of my new studio
For mostly video work which one would you choose, Sony 24-105 f4 OSS vs new sigma 24-70 art mark 2 f2.8? btw I’m using a Sony zv-e1, thanks!! 🙌
Bought it during kickstartee campaign a few years ago, still use it, still love it! 💪
Yeah the mechanism is brilliant
Great video. May I know your thoughts with the recently released lenses from Sony competing against the Sony 24-105/4. The Sony FE 20-70/4G, and the twin 16-25 and 24-50 F2.8 G I own the 24/1.8, 35/1.4, 55/1.8 and the 85.14 and I am thinking I could use a zoom. Thank you.
alpenglow is also a good one
Thx
Great video Mark
Nice one thanks dude
That front element moving makes Sigma a better buy. Either one is great though from many reviews I've seen.
I had my concerns but I've owned the Tamron for a number of years and no dust has gotten inside the lens, but it is a strange design choice by Tamron
What Tripod & ball head are you using that easily connects to your camera cage?
That's the Vanguard VEO 3+ Tripod
If you were given a lens, this is sponsored content and must be marked as such. You're violating UA-cam's terms
womp womp
You cant bring forward that stabilisation as a useful feature on this lens. Lowest possible stabilisation avaliable. Does it even work together with tHE cameas IBIS or are they working against each other? ;-) Exept for that - its a great lens. My edge sharpness (on the left sides) is not very high though.
I'm not a videographer so the stabilisation works well for photography. I haven't tested against my 70-200mm f2.8ii but I can and see for how well it works for video
Doesnt the sigma have horrible distortion throughout it's focal range, like I saw in another video
I shot them side by side and didn't find the Sigma to have bad distortion. I ended up preferring the Tamron due to its better performance with flaring.
Hello bro i’m little confuse with some questions like - 1) Does it support 4k 60 to 120 because some people says and shown that it supports upto 60 and they tried 4k 120 and its works fine so idk this is true or not 2) Does it support 10bit 422? I hope you can answer my questions :)
I shoot 10bit 4:2:2 and it previewed fine. I rarely use slow motion as I don't need it in my videos so I hadn't tested for it
@@MarkDuffyPhotography if you can use that please let me know i want to buy this monitor but I’m very confused due to this little doubtful question :) it helps me alot thankyou
Very useful and despite having two of the apps, I managed to learn something new about them. Well done and thanks!
Oh cool thanks, what apps did you already have?
@@MarkDuffyPhotography Ventusky (didn’t know I could isolate clouds etc) and PhotoPills (actually I went on one of their camps in 2018….great crew and app)
Paid $140 for the viltrox and $220 for the samyang Which should i keep?
Whichever one you prefer
Your noise-reduction test was cool. Still heard the wind a few times, but much better. High or Low in the app? Do you use the app? (Haven't watched the whole video yet...) I'm sure the dead cat would take it all out. I just bought the full combo (M2 Duo) at $179 US. Plan to use it on my Insta360 X4 if the mic adapter picks it up with the cable (it should remain 'invisible' on the Ulanzi Rode Wireless Go ll mount I currently use) so I can reduce some of the ambient noise I pick up on my ebike with the Rode, and maybe reduce some of the engine noise from my Harley (SOME, but nowhere near all... you need a little engine noise on Harley videos!) I've seen a number of reviews where line-of-sight was tested with the back to the camera and it worked fine at least a couple hundred feet away before cutting out. Good enough. AND, if you put the mic on the clip and attached it to the bill of a cap that was within line-of-sight as you walk away, it would be fine up to the max distance. I'm really jacked about this mic setup! Main reason for buying was the iPhone useability so I can do B-Roll with the phone and still have high-quality audio. Thanks for the review.
I didnt use the app at all, I don't use apps for my workflow. In the distance test I have the windshield on and it cut out all the wind that hit me during that.
Plastic or metal or a mix? Also do you think it would be too heavy on a Sony a7cii?
Great video, thank you. Have you tested if the monitor can be powered through USB-C?
Most monitors can be powered through USB-C now
Love my 24-105 - Are you sure this G lens is considered kit 🤔
Not so sure now as I think a cheaper lens is sold with cameras lately but when I got my A7iii, this was the kit lens
According to the CC you are called Mary now 😄😄😄
Ha thanks yeah just seeing that now. I'm not changing it either 😅😂
@@MarkDuffyPhotographymore Irish than your actual name 😅
😂😅😂
@@MarkDuffyPhotographymate I have a technical problem with lavalier mics I've been trying to figure out for a while maybe you know how? 😭 I been researching this lark m2 for a week now, one thing I'm trying to solve is that how to also connect to a Bluetooth/ wireless earbuds (only for hearing the other side) WHILE using the lark m2 as the sound input. What I've found is that when u connect the lark m2 receiver through the charging port, then you connect the Bluetooth earbuds which also always come with inbuilt mics, it'll consider it as both sound input and output so it'll cancel the lark m2.. I've been trying to make it sense how to maybe split the charging port through a splitter and connect the Lark receiver to one and use a random Bluetooth receiver to connect to my earbuds on the other female end of the splitter.. Did I make sense? That way it could possibly be forced to understand one is charging the phone (lark receiver) And the other is "cable headset" (Bluetooth receiver for the jbl earbuds which I wanna only hear the other side from) But then will it to be too damm heavy hanging a whole computer system thru one little charging port??😂😂
@@MarkDuffyPhotographyand do you know if we could purchase some transmitters and receivers separately and possibly in different colors and use them together or one product in each package is suitable only with the given transmitters/receivers? 🤔
Me gustó más el Samyang
I've been using that Samyang loads since and love it
Does the gimbal works well with a6400 and sigma 30mm?
Yeah its designed for that size of a camera
Excellent lens. I have this but i also got the 20-70. Thats definitely a travel lens.
That's a nice range 20-70mm I'm guessing that's f2.8?
@@MarkDuffyPhotography it's an F4. 2.8 would be nice.
What kind of filter system is that? I want to get something that allows me to use the same filter on my different sized lenses so I don’t have to buy multiple for each.
This is the H&Y Revoring filters. But even buying any filter get the biggest size you need and then step down rings for your lenses. This is the handiest system by far though
@@MarkDuffyPhotography thanks!
Thanks for the review! Btw, am pretty sure that mystery rod is for attaching a follow focus to manual lenses
I've actually ended up using it this week as a counter weight
Nice review!
Nice one thanks
How much do u charge per shoot ?
Can I connect to the camera wirelessly (Bluetooth or wifi, without cable)? ZV e10
I don't know sorry
Great video
Nice one thanks, what a terrible mistake I made
can i use beast pro cage
I don't know what the beast pro cage is?
Great work Mark.
Thanks Ken, more of a good recovery. I was so sickened for the mistake I made but thankfully it worked out
Title of the video is a bit misleading.
Why? Because everyone in the comments is suggesting 24mm GM yet I'm only recommending ultra angle wide lenses. The only other lens I would be considering for this is the Sony 14mm f1.8 but I haven't tried it. But since the video was made Sigma has released a new 14mm f1.4 which I tried at an event and its really good. So no I stand by the video and title
@@MarkDuffyPhotography I'd say a better title would be, "The Top 4 Lenses for Nightscapes that I've used".
Great review!
Nice one thanks glad you enjoyed it. My latest video is something I'd rather not admit to but felt it important to share for others to learn from my mistakes 🙈
I'm grateful for your time and the lesson, however I suggest that next time, you would be better videoing the process in real time and editing the procedure, that way you show all the aspects that you want to, and have more control in the result, without the time loss again, a bit like, having a stock pile of sky's that you can then paste in in LR! Very good result though, and have you looked at Topaz that will get rid of all that noise!
I've heard Topaz is fantastic. As for sky replacements, I hate that practice that's not photography. Exposure blending for me achieves what my eye sees, anyone can add in a sky from a different photo, that's what I did for a decade as graphic designer lol. But I'm not fully understanding the first part of your comment, do you mean to screen capture my photos as I'm editing them?
Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought you had already done the LR procedure and that this was a repeat, perhaps you just added the commentary! My point was to video said process and then you can show said edit, edited! Also my point regarding the sky, was not to paste in any sky, but that actual sky of the place! It’s sometime used in flash photography for getting the right balance or Fine Art when your taking a long exposure and you are visiting a place, so if something happens with the weather or something else, you have a fail safe! I like what you did though! And you’ve gained a subscription!
@f1remandg I didn't foresee there being camera shake from the shutter when I shot the 3 brackets. Only when I went to edit did I come across it. I've tried before screen grabbing while editing and then doing a voiceover on top of the finalised video edit but it always comes out sounding rushed and I get quite a few people complaining about how fast I talk haha... But glad you enjoyed it enough to subscribe. Great chatting with you
